What's a jock? Are you talking about the American term for people who participate in sport? If so, your question doesnt make much sense.
If you are talking about the Scots, then are you talking about their football talent on the park currently or are you talking about football talent in general i.e. managers?
The Scottish team has improved massively under Walter Smith and there are many reasons for its decline over the years. The influx of foreign talent in the early nineties meant that there was no focus by the clubs on bringing through good Scottish talent. All available money was spent on whatever quality foreigner they could bring in. Hence, the youth were never given the chance to learn their trade and progress into International Football.
Bearing in mind the population of Scotland and the fact that it's decreasing, I think that they are doing very well to make improvements. The Scottish quality is on show week in week out in the English Premiership and I think recent wins, particularly against France, show that they are a team on the up.

well we are the world champs at elephant polo so your question had some merits......but you cant say we're bad at football........the great liverpool team of the 70's had a fair number of scots in it.......who beat england after the world cup in '66 with jimmy baxter taking the utter mince out of england.........over the years there have many great scottish footballers allright we're not as good at the moment but look to our under 19 and under 21 squads who are extremelly good.......so in a few years these players will make the breakthrough to the national squad and by then scotland will be back where they belong as a force in world football..............now you look at england a team full of premadonnas you did have a brilliant world cup...........i dont think so

England are the greatest under-achievers in world football.Take away the legions of foreign imports into the English leagues and you are left with a dung-heap of mediocrity.
Over-paid tossers who fail at every hurdle put in front of them. Not one of them understands the term "playing for the jersey"
We are sh*t but at least we can admit this. England have this fu*kin far fetched idea that they are some sort of world beaters but in reality, you are about as likely to win a major tournament as we are.
So f*ck off with your patronizing or I'll come down there and hack your nuts off wi' ma claymore, ya fu*ckin radge.

i can only assume you're english still holding on to that home soil, disputed, didn't have to qualify, trophy that pickles(now a judge) found in a hedge, victory after extra time, over 40 years ago.
refresh my memory what was the NORTHERN IRELAND v england result this century, or have you forgotten David Healy already. wouldn't go spouting off to quickly you'll be lucky to qualify now. and what will you and the rest of the english fans do ?turn on your manager, make fun of him in the press, you're a disgrace to football all round the world.
