Yes, it could be a sign of depression...it is the externalization of self-hatred, like why should I do something when I'm not happy and it's not going to make a difference anyway, I don't have money, am overweight, single etc. But by no means should a person suffering from depression be lazy... at least try to make a difference by doing something -- exercise, help someone else etc. but a severely depressed person needs medical help cos they can't go through this sort of thing alone.

Not laziness, but chronic fatigue....a feeling like you wish you could go do something but you can't make yourself get up and go. That is a sign of depression along with sleeping alot, a change in social activities, change in eating habits and sleep problems. There are many signs of depression, but I wouldn't include laziness in there.

It can be, but maybe i wont use the word depression, instead "Lack of motivation" Maybe this is one aspect or angle that most people neglect and they thought that they were so depress to move or that probably they were just really born lazy etc. But the truth is, they just lack motivation in life.
Lets put it this way, Would things be different if there would be one people in your life who constantly reminds you and make you feel that "you can do it" and make you feel "no matter what happen he/she would just be there beside you"?
Probably, life woud be more easier to live if there would just be one person out there who stands in our side and always believe that we can make it, surely, you wont feel lazy to do things (could you imagine that!.

It can be. If you are concerned see a health care professional. My mom had depression - you don't feel like doing much when you are depressed - that's not the same as being "lazy".

In some cases, YES. One feels they can not do anything right, so why do it at all. In other cases, NO. One is just lazy.
