My father passed away before my eyes when I was 2 1/2, and my mother wasn't equipped to deal with a child from that point on (personal opinion). As I grew up, my mother tried in various ways to live (or recreate) her childhood the way she had wanted it to go through me and basically not allow me any say whatsoever in how my life was to be lived. As I got older and she could no longer exert any control over me, it became apparent that I was going to live my own life for me, not her, and we haven't spoken since 1981.
I wish I had a functioning relationship with my mother, she has a 20 year old granddaughter she's never met and probably never will.

I do for the most part. Things have gotten a little rockier since I moved out, got married and had babies.. my mother is always sticking her nose in my business.. telling me what I'm doing wrong and how I could improve. But I suppose she thinks that she's an expert and I'm a beginner.

But listen i know why u have asked this it is caause sometimes you parents can make you life hard but it is ok a little anger won't harm anyone but u must no ask such a thing our parents brought us to this world and with hard work they do for us you must try to under stand> The answer to quting i do get on with my parents

My father lives a long way away but we get on okay. I can't stand my mother. She is crazy, manipulative and nasty. She is an alcoholic, not drinking at the moment but it doesn't make any difference, she is a nightmare.

My Mom is the greatest, my father is an asshole and I havent spoken to him in over 2 years....he's an abusive, manipulative sorry excuse for a human being....

She's very traditional...I'm not.
She doesn't want me to grow up...I push the limits.
