If a state agency employees , should violate an RSA law in New Hampshire, who enforces it? More to the point, if a citizen feels that an agency head has violated an RSA law with reference to their civil rights, what recource do they have? short of an attorney. Would the Attorney General office be a contact? Thanks Allan

If a citizen feels that an agency head has violated an RSA you should contact the Attorney Generals office 271-3671. At that point if the AG's office feels that a crime may have been committed they will assign the State Police or a Non Bias party from an outside agency to investigate at that time. Generally if there is an issue with a police department and someone is not satisfied with how the call was handled then you would first need to go up the chain of command...Sergeant, Chief, Sellectmen then the AG's office.

I have no idea what the RSA law is, unless you mean the NH Revised Statutes Annotated. But, what I do know that if public officials of any state commit a crime or "civil rights" violations it would be a matter for the states attorney general and that's states top law enforcement agency to investigate.

If a police officer commits a crime, his agency or the state agency would investigate it. If its a civil rights violation, the FBI is charged with investigating it.
