Scared isn't really the word as far as I'm concerned.
I find that I'm less interested in commitment as I get older. When I was younger I was quite into the idea of marriage and settling down, maybe because at that time I thought that's what people were supposed to do. The whole, 'leave school, get a job, get a wife and have children' kind of thinking.
Nowadays I'd sooner just concentrate on being happy, that's all that matters to me, with or without a wife and kids.

Not really I'm 30 and the ironing, cooking, cleaning, bedroom duties are getting boring by myself so I wouldn't mind some commitment for a bit of help.

Age has nothing to do with it. Some guys want to settle down and others don't. Depends on their life style and their outlook.
