After all, it does say many times in the Bible, in so many words, to not deal with non-Christians. As Christians, we are here on earth to witness, and lead people to turn over their lives to Jesus Christ. So if someone is a muslim, or a Jew, or a Buddhist, and you are a Christian, shouldn't you try to convert them?

Hi .. I'm pagan.

So i get alot of the "let me save your soul thing"

Just to let you know My Soul is very good and very fine.
I left Christianity some 20 or so years ago, only because of the small minded belief that they are right and everyone else is wrong.

That if you don't do it your way ... we are all doomed and going to hell or we need to be saved.

I believe it doesn't matter what we all are.. as long as we are good at heart. its only the fundamentalist that get under my skin.
And make me wonder, if indeed they are humble or just full of themselves.

As part of freedom of speech you have the right to say what you want. but out of respect for other people, you should not. Why would you go insulting what other people believe? I hope that before you do this, you at least know about the religions you are insulting and you're not just doing it because you were told not to consort with people of other religions...which is a REDICULOUS notion and the way to start hatred towards other cultures, not stop it! As for converting other people, you can't convert people by hating what they believe in.

Why would you want to put them down?
And as far as converting, I think thats silly. First of all, you're NOT going to be able to convert someone of a different faith, so why waste your time. Secondly, I thought you were supposed to live with love in your heart to be Christian, telling someone else that their Religion is wrong is not very loving.
Besides, most Religions believe that theirs is the only one, if all of them went on a mission to convert others, Christians would be subject to that too. Would you want someone trying to convert you to another religion??

No, we have no right. Other religions may be blind but the only way to really convert a person to Christiannity is to be really nice, don't be arrogant and don't teach people with impatience. Teach them bit by bit and sooner they will accept.

The Bible does not say to not deal with non-christians but it says to love thy neighbor as thy self and also to teach them the word of God with patience.

We should (Eph.5:11)correct them, but not put them down.
JAMES 4:10-11 = "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of trhe law, but a judge." (1Thess.2:7-11)
Everyone has a free will and/or choice; to put someone down that is: judging a person. Does the Bible say in Matt.7:1 "not to judge", but to (2Tim.4:2-4)preach the message and that's all, the rest is up to them. We're all sinners, so why judge another; we supposed to be praying for them. In time, God will show these people their sin.; doesn't it say that in Prov.3:12?
PROV.3:12 = "For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth."

Alot of christians try to force people to convert to their belief; to me this is not right.
Rom.3:3 = "For what is some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?"
Would you be happy if God forced you to do something that you didn't want to do? The answer would be "no" and then you would rebel sooner or later. God gives the world a choice: Satan or God. There are many religions out there and everyone (2Thess.2:3-12)thinks they're right. But the Bible tells us that there are many (Matt.7:15-20)false prophets and we supposed to (1Jn.4:1)try them(Heb.5:14); not put them down.
(1Pet. 4:16-18)

this applies to all religions:

You can make an "intelligent criticism" corroborated with proper evidence if you want to convey a contention. However it has to be done with a bit of sensitivity.

The problem is when you get village peasants (like the ones that plague yahoo answers) that only throw around insults with no evidence, it can be insulting to the people but also a testament to the lack of intellect of the speaker themselves.

We as Christians should never judge anyone or any other religions. Love Thy Neighbours As Thyself And Pray For Thy Enemies. Besides who are we to judge anyone. Are we not all sinners? There is only ONE Judge.

Spread the Word, not convert. Though many who don't like hearing the news, call it converting! "Convert" has always sounded forceful to me...

No, we should love our enemies, I know its difficult sometimes, aspecialy in here, but then again the Bible says that if your eye makes you sin, plug it out, or if your hand make you sin, cut it off, so if this place makes you sin, just leaf
