They are competitive by nature. Religion is based on emotional manipulation, not reason. They aren't really touting facts. They are using emotional hooks.
Deep down, they realize there is really no convincing evidence to sway people to their religion. Therefore, they really push the emotional hooks to both bind their religious group together tighter and discourage people from listening to other religious groups. Their warning of people inside the group teaching slightly different tenets is even stronger. Apostasy, in their eyes, is even worse than other religions because the claims are closer and potentially more convincing.
If you look at the Bible and Quran, for instance, you see many references to this.

>>>I've been to many different religion services and have never heard preaching about the acceptance of other religions.>>>
You've probably also never heard any preaching about the importance of voting or of keeping your house clean -- but that doesn't mean these things aren't important to us.
When the priest gives his homily at Mass, I don't want to hear him talk about aspects of Protestantism or Judaism or Islam and how we should respect people of those faiths -- because I already do respect them.
Instead, I want the priest to help me be the best Catholic possible. That's what I go to church for. The whole "tolerate other faiths" bit, I can handle myself. There's no reason for my priest to state the obvious.

Religion is not competitive.
It is about the right beliefs.
Excelling in compassion and understanding, building trust, showing respect would never separate people.
If the heart of any religion (or its adherents) is not about this then something is not right.

that is actual that one and all or maximum wars are and function been in accordance to fights over diverse religions. so that you could assert faith causes all wars, even though it also enables human beings get with the help of the day feeling like they have a purpose to stay... you should take the exhilaration with the discomfort, the coolest with the undesirable.

respect each others differences and stop spreading LIES about each others faiths.
may be some understanding can go a long way.
I'm glad you started to realize that there's a problem. i will appreciate it if you either know what you are talking about when you answer a question about my religion or just say i dont know. I'll keep the same courtesy.
let's start it today.

Come to my church. We are encouraged as members to learn about other faiths and why they believe the way they do. I am LDS and our "sister" church in town is Baptist. Go figure!!!
