hi, I'm female!! and i have long curly hair which gets extremely knotty if i don't treat it right. i wash my hair, massaging the scalp, rinse, then add a good conditioner for tangle free hair, leave on for 10 minutes, (put more conditioner on the lower half of your hair, as the scalp produces its own oils) rinse hair but not too much leave a little in and when you go to brush it afterwords, you should find it easier and softer.....the girls will love it!! p.s i comb my conditioner thru my hair and then leave for 10 minutes.

Why would you want to tame it in the first place ;)
Anyway, you can take a "straightening permanent treatment" at the barber if you really like it straightened for good.

I have the same problem and use the John Frieda stuff. It works really well but is expensive.
