Just checking the modern etiquette!! The bride and groom were married in the summer and no thank you notes have been sent...we personally don't really care, but maybe some might, especially the grandparents who were far more generous than normal..any feedback?

They should be sent ASAP upon receiving EACH gift. Sadly, plenty of couples are extremely rude nowadays and don't send them at all, or send them shamefully late.

You have 3 months to send thank-you notes. If the bride and groom haven't sent any and you're very concerned about it, go out and buy some thank-you cards and stamps. Drop by one day and say something like "I saw these and thought of you! I didn't know if you had sent yours out or not, but if you have you can always use these for Christmas!" That should be a bold enough polite hint to get them motivated... :)

Thank you notes should have been sent within 3 months after the wedding. The note should mention the "special" gift that was given, and should include a small snapshot of the bride and groom.

This is not only proper etiquette, but GOOD MANNERS!

I was told that thank you notes should be sent out within three months after the wedding.

They should have completed the thank-yous within two months after the wedding date, or the receipt of the gift if it was a shower gift.

Thakn you cards are usually sent out right after the couple returns from the honeymoon...they can be sent as much as 4 months after the wedding, but it is best to send them out as soon as possible.

They should have done the thank yous right away. I know how it feels - a nephew of mine got married in early October; the wedding shower was a month before that -- and no thank you cards from either.

I would say send them out within a month of getting married.

Most couples get around to sending them out pretty soon after the wedding. I think it is supposed to be within 6 months.
