that's a good question.

surprisingly enough !!!

i think it is because it contains compounds like wheat.

which is found in sugar puffs i believe.

strangely enough, wheat in certain forms is relatively indigestible that's why they don't give it to young children.

when u have eaten something which is not completely digested, it obviously passes out the other side. e.g. tomatoes, especially the seeds.

either the food/drink contains something strong smelling

or

after the enzymes and stomach acids have done their bit, it is altered to a compound which produces the smell.

i don't know what u think but it is not an entirely unpleasant smell. i just wouldn't use it as an aftershave !!! LOL !!!!!!

most public toilets on the other hand smell p awful, er literally !!!

It might be ketones? Mild ketosis will occur with starvation. Anyone who has not eaten for 18 hours will show light ketones. Even an overnight fast may show a trace of ketones the next morning

Urine has been about much longer so I s'pose your question should be "Why do sugar puffs smell of urine?"

Exactly. Sometimes it does to me. That's why I don't eat sugar puffs.
Also other smells to eat like lobster or cod.

My husband maintains that this is true.

I however hate sugar puffs, therefore never eat them!

You may have diabetes - seriously. An old doctor once said that when flies start to circle around your fly, its time to check your blood for sugar levels.
