Sadly the most successful people in life are the ones who never admit lying, they always weedle out of it somehow. Blaming others, denying they were there, it's amazing what you can get away with. Personally, I wouldn't do it, but that's because I am a lousy liar (go redfaced). I suppose it depends on what's at stake - I mean, what you have to lose. If you have alot to lose by owning up then it might be worth the gamble, but play to win and don't ever falter........

The few times that I have gotten busted for a lie, I try and talk my way out of it.It never works so I just put my head down and wait for the damage to heal, so I can be trusted again. But that lie doesn't go away. It hangs around waiting to be brought up again should I be considered to be lying again.

That would depend on how big the lie was and on the consecuences of both telling the truth and sticking to the lie.

I guess I'd chose the option which hurt the other person less.
Consider also what you've got to loose / win in both cases.

Liars are the last to know " The truth always comes out" It will be shouted from the rooftops the more you try to hide it. Adam blamed Eve, Eve blamed the snake and centeries later the blame game is still being played

Depending on the situation, I am most likely keeping the lying on trying to get away with things (if the consequences of my lie, would be unbearable) otherwise I would tell the truth right away by doing something right in order to fix something wrong I have done or made before.
When my aunt was in the hospital with cancer, I lied to her about the gravity of her disease and made her believed she would not die from that...I did this because I knew her enough to know she could not face the truth, neither my aunts and my mother....she only got to know she was going to die one month before she actually die and we all took care of her medication and treatment by not leaving the treatments exclusively on hers care. We moved her to our home, where we used to give her medication and take all the care need it, until we had to move her to the hospital where she died....

Honesty is the best policy. if its a big lie you'll only end up getting caught out anyway, these things have a habit of being found out. so your best bet is to be honest from the start people will think alot better of you for it even if they are hurt from the start.

dont complicate things further by lying or by trying to blame someone else! Just admit you've been untruthful - possibly tell them why - and learn a lesson from this! xx

Try and lie your way out of it - failing that, admit all and run for the hills!

Is your lie meant to cheat others, or to rectify a situation caused by another lie imposed to you as a fact? that determines also the degree of support you need to exhibit for your 'lying"
