they may say the average cost is 3000... but that may be the surgery alone. you have doctors fees, surgery room fees, medicine fees, recovery costs, consultation costs. surgery can be expensive. question is how good is your insurance.
one option is to look into getting surgary overseas. places like india and thailand have the best trained doctors but the cost of procedures is greatly reduced from that which you would pay in america, or the long wait list you find in england. google, 'medical holidays'
