Depends, at least a year.

There are still people today, who wait until marriage to have sexual relations. These couples should not wait for more than six months. This can be a difficult time for them. Waiting any longer than that, will only make temptation harder to avoid.
As for the others, who don't want to wait for marriage to have sex, it is all up to them, to each his own choices. They are accountable for their own decisions in life. So their courtship maybe longer, because they are having sex already. Time length may not matter to them. For me though, I agree with waiting until marriage. Six months to a year was a long enough wait.

Hard to say,i guess its up to the 2 people dating. Do you want to really get to know the person well "VERY" well, before you take that next big step? Or are you a frill seeker, like my ex husband and i were? we knew each other about a week when he poped the big Q. It lasted 15 years not bad i guess (and after 15 years)
i was still none the wiser to who he is....lol

One to two years unless he or she goes into a coma or dies. Otherwise someone will go on feeling they can milk the cow forever without buying it, so to speak.

This comes down to personal preference, nothing more. You will know when it's time to tie the knot.
