Well, let's think about that a minute... if you actually went by the teachings of islam (word for word) then no, they are not peaceful. If you say they are peaceful then you must be going by something else. From what I read it actually tells you to lie about islam (not to tell the truth). Now if you are actually following the teachings to the letter you already know this, but alot of people will say no it doesn't say that. Read again. The Bible, on the other hand does NOT teach that. Jesus wanted people to spread the word and be TRUTHFUL about it. He spoke of peace and love. Why would a "religion of peace" want people to lie about it? I am convinced more than ever that this religion is the work of the devil.

I can smell hate from your question, but still I can't say that your religion is hate religion, on the contrary, I know that it's basically a love religion.
The same way, if you saw some Political violence (to free occupied lands, or whatever), you can only speak about the act of a group of people, but you can't say that the religion is related to that behavior.
And If you read anything about Islam, you would know that it's the religion of peace, the problem is that you learn about religion from politicians, it doesn't sound like a trusted source.
And to the answer that said that If a Muslim converted to other religion, he would be killed, This is untrue.
Again, read about the unknown instead of hating it (as an easier solution), I did read in many other religions.

I seem to know a lot more hateful Christians and atheists than hateful Muslims, too. On the other hand, I don't know that many Muslims, but I sure know a lot of Christians and atheisits. Why is that? Could it be that we live in a Christian country? Maybe if we lived in a Muslim country, it would be different. I suspect that the 19 hijackers who flew planes into the World Trade Center were pretty hateful. But I didn't know them, so . . . .
