I have one fossil looking like the second cervical vertebra. It is oval and measures 4cm in its longer diameter. It is 2.5 cm at the highest and 6.3 cm in the lateral view. Is it a human axis?

Actually, it should be the seventh cervical vertebra C7 instead of C2.

Two pictures (top and bottom views) of the fossil can be seen at

Is that a C2 or C7? A human or other mammalian cervical vertebra?
Please advise.

FACT: did you know that giraffes have the same number of cervical vertebrae as humans?!

Sorry, that's all I could come up with...
