Hi...I'm also O neg or rhesus neg as medical staff call it. It means only 15% of the nation have this blood group and as our blood can be donated to all blood groups they are always in desperate need of it. However it also means that us O neg people can only have O neg blood. There are also implications when it comes to having babies. It can be quite a serious risk to you and the unborn if the unborn baby is rhesus positive...if you type in rhesus neg pregnancy in a search engine then this will explain why.
Just think of yourself as rare and special!

I too have a very rare blood group (AB positive) and I don't donate it because of my own health risks. I suffer from shugar low spells so I would deffinately pass out.
However, I do carry an organ donor card so if there is anyone waiting for anything of my blood group they can have it after I am done with it.
Also, when is a shortage of blood donors it is normally a shortage of the more popular blood groups, thinking about it it makes sence.

That means that you are a universal donor. Anybody, no matter their blood type, can accept O negative. When hospitals do not have the time to figure out somebodies blood type, they give them O negative. On the other hand, O positive is a universal receiver, they can accept anybodies blood. Everyone else can only accept their own blood type and O negative.

Yes your a special blood group because anyone can have your blood. They use it when they get car accidents and things because they may need to give a transfusion before they can test for the person's blood group. But only you can only have o neg blood. You should try donating again its a really good cause.

You are TYPE O NEGATIVE.
there are several types:
A
B
AB
O
each can be positive or negative, this does not mean anything bad or good, it only means what blood you can receive.
I am O- as well and we are much needed, in case of someone being injured doctors ALWAYS give the person the same blood type.
BUT in case of bad shortage and if the person is about to die one can be given TYPE O NEGATIVE for we are universal donnors, but we are not universal receiver. This means that we can only get TYPE O NEGATIVE blood.
This blood type IS NOT rare (I think B is) but the problem is that since we are universal donnors and can only get O NEGATIVE blood there is always a shortage of it.

O detrimental skill you're a primary donor, your blood can get carry of to all human beings, the blood clinics love you. the drawback is that in case you get into an twist of destiny and choose finished blood transfusion in simple terms yet another O- might provide you blood, and that's form of in simple terms 6% of the inhabitants. you're blessed to have a uncommon blood form, which could help a lot of folk so determine you pass and donate.

It is a rare blood group and is highly sought after but not at the risk of your own health so talk to your doctor to find out why that paticular fainting episode occured and if it will recur if you did give blood again.

I have the same problem. I am regurarly asked to come in to give blood as our blood type is the rarest i think. It can be used in transfusions with any other blood group. Maybe it is not such a good idea to join the Army.
