All tablets for high blood pressure may potentially cause side effects and these may vary from one person to another. There is no way of knowing in advance how you will react to any tablet and the only way to know is to try it. However, most people will have no side effects at all from their medications. In fact, many people feel much better when their blood pressure is controlled.

It really depends on which class of high blood pressure drugs you're talking about. Diruetics often cause increased urinary volume and sometimes increased urinary freqency. ACE inhibitors occasionally cause bothersome coughing. Calcium channel blockers can cause constipation.

However, I would say the most common side effect for any high blood pressure medication is increased dizziness. Orthostatic hypotension (increased dizziness when you sit or stand up quickly) is especially problematic. Luckily, these dizzy symptoms often go away after a few days or weeks once your body adjusts to its new lower blood pressure.
