Merchant Marines/Navy make pretty good money, but the only thing is is it all depends on where your ship is stationed meaning, most ships go from point A to point B and then back to point A, no stops in between, so choose a ship wisely

I think ultimately you will become chief Marine Engineer on a Ship.

It takes quiet few years. Pays good and depending on the contracts, can make and save lots of money, in USA if it is considered Out Of USA income then there is no Income Tax.

But you must decide.

1st thing merchant navy is not a military service. secondly, go get the job, its fabulous job, i m also from merchant navy but remember its very hard job, and if ur not swimmer u should be very good swimmer its compulsory. merchant navy welcomes you. thanx

Hello, please let your own mind and heart guide you, don't let people make decisions for you especially relatives...if you feel that a merchant navy ship is what you want to do than do it, if it's not go with what you want to do and let your own desires guide you...let your relatives guide their own children...
