Its a sign that in the eyes of Allah we are all the same no matter what race or colour, or if you are rick or poor, everyone is the same and it is an awesome feeling standing on the plains of Arafah amidst all these Muslims from all over the world everyone reciting the same Labbaik and making duaa to Allah.

Greet you in the same manner as Jesus (pbuh) greeted in Hebrew Luke 24:36
‘Sholam alay kum’
or Islamic greeting in Arabic Assalaamu alai kum
both meaning ‘Peace be on you’.
That event is called Hajj, All Muslim from around the world gather in one place, wearing two pieces of white cloth, standing shoulder to shoulder togather ya can't identify whos king and whos poor, poor and king stand together shoulder to shoulder feet to feet, its for universal brotherhood. THIS IS CALLED UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD.

Actually it just signifies equality, Its just a collection of different pieces of cloth which means that any body can afford it....It makes the person standing next to you seem no different than you are...the basic thing is that everybody blends and nobody is discriminated against which is one of the principal teachings of Islam peace, equality and tolerance...
