I'm American and husband Australian. We have 2 little kids and want to move to the US. I have all the immigration stuff worked out, it's the rest that's perplexing me. I.e. how to bring funds into the US from sale of house without getting it taxed to death and other details about getting set up in the US. I've lived here for 11 years and can't seem to remember anything!

I agree, I live in America and it kind of sucks. We are taxed on just about everything you can think of. The world hates us. We have stupid(Like if someone falls in your yard they can sue you) laws. It's not as clean as Aussie and has alot more crime.

But as for the funds, If you come here and don't turn them in, you can get charged with tax Invasion. Check out Cananda since you have kids they pay for your health care and its beautiful up there.

Depending on where you move there is state regulations you will have to follow. I would go look up the laws for that state you plan on moving too.
