Frank - belief is a very individual thing, but having said that, I like to believe that it depends on the individual.
I actually do past life regressions with people and I can tell you that maybe it depends on the age of the soul. Some people, it seems, do see familiar faces of loved ones around, others see angels, and yet others who may have more experience with the transition may not see any of that, perhaps because they dont need it.
I do believe also that it may be possible to contact any spirit, although teh experience wont be exactly like having tea with another human being.
Anyway, I hope that you have this experience that you wish for.....when its time fo course

No one knows for sure - the Bible says we will have 'new bodies' but doesn't really explain what that looks like. We know that in heaven there is no pain or suffering so maybe everyone looks like they did when they were young and healthy?
I read a cool book called '90 Minutes in Heaven' and it is about this pastor who died in a car accident and actually went to heaven and was greeted by all his old relatives and friends who had died. Written by Don Piper I think.
One thing for sure, if you believe that Jesus died for your sins and ask Him to be your Saviour you WILL go to heaven and live with all your grandparents and great-grandparents forever and forever in bliss. :)

They will not look the same as here on earth. Their bodies are renewed to the fullest. Try reading some of Sylvia Browne's books, They will help u 2 understand it all better. Trust me.

Supposedly, there is to be a resurrection of both righteous and (SOME) unrighteous, according to what God decides. This concept in itself offers you hope. I don't have the same longing as you, but I guess I can understand where you're coming from.

I'm really sorry to tell you this, But there is no such thing as the after-life. It really sucks, but it is the truth. You'll never see them again, except for in photos and video recordings. I'd give ANYTHING to see my dad again, but I know it'll never happen. It's just not logical.
Go on, give me a thumbs down if it'll make you feel better. But what I'm saying is the truth.

I would like to believe that, in Heaven, we will see our loved ones in the image portrayed by our best positive memories of, and feelings about, them.
