I think according to the story, he didn't TRY to save himself from the Jews. I recall a verse talking about how he could quite easily bring the wrath of God down upon them but that he wouldn't, that he had to die.

Jesus could save himself from the cross. But that wouldn't have fullfilled His destiny. He chose not to save himself. As such, your premise is just wrong. Jesus made a choice. His choice was to suffer pain on the cross (not a good way to die) to save us. His death was my salvation and yours. And He chose to do it. Then, 3 days later, He was resurected, which means that, not only did He save us by taking the world's sins as His own, but He showed how powerless the world's sins really were compared to Him.
And one more thing. Jesus did not fail to save himself "from Jews." Jesus was a Jew.
Also, Christians also believe that Jesus has been alive for the last 2000 years since the resurrection. He never died in the sense that he defeated death.
Additionally, any true Muslim would know that Christians, like Jews, are the "People of the Book." As such, Christians and Jews should be treated with respect by all Muslims. Say what you will about Isreal and the US, but treat the respective religions with respect.

O Punter, how can I explain something so complex to you?
You Muslims believe that an illiterate Mohammad could know the Truth about Jesus who had lived over 600 years before he was even born!?
How can a man who could not read nor write, have the Knowledge to talk about someone he never met?
Yet, you believe and swear by what is so evidently a lie!?
How can you believe that the Archangel Gabriel chose an illiterate morally challenged man like Mohammad?
At least, in the New Testament there are the Testaments of many people who said that Jesus had every chance to save Himself, but did not do so.
Your Koran is the word of just one man who neither lived in that time nor was anywhere near that event and yet he declared all these ridiculous things.
And yet, you believe him over so many others?!?
O Muslim, how can we talk sense with you when you lack it so?

Jesus could have very well saved himself from the Jews, but this was not his purpose. In the Garden of Gethsemane he asks God If there was any other way to end the suffering to show him otherwise Gods will be done not his. He knew the pain and suffering he would endure but this was the only way to intercede for your sins and mine so that we would be made right in Gods eyes. he chose to suffer so we would not have to.

Jesus knew beforehand that the Jews would reject him. Remember when God divorced the Israelites many years before, and sent them to Babylong. God follows His own law. To marry them again, He had to die, and let Israel be a widow. In essence, she is free to come back to Him. Back to the beginning. The story doesn't end there. In the process, God made it possible for anyone to marry Him, not only Jews. This is what the prophets spoke of. And being God, He went to Hades and set the captives free before resurrecting from the dead. There is a mystery here that is astonishing. May you be blessed in finding the deep and mysterious hidden things of Christianity.

Your question doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I'll try to explain.
As God, Jesus never sinned, but He was unique because He was in a mortal and imperfect body. As it was foretold in the Scriptures, He was arrested and hung on the cross. And on the cross He took the sins of all believers (then and now) on Himself, and died the death WE deserve, becoming the ULTIMATE sacrifice, washing all those who come to Him by faith.
Jesus died and after three days resurrected (came back alive) as a metaphysical person, thus opening the gateways to Heaven for all who believe in Him. As a pure sacrifice AND as a human, He did what humans couldn't: die as a human & enter Heaven.

Luke 35-43:
35The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One."
36The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar 37and said, "If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself."
38There was a written notice above him, which read:|sc THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!"
40But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
42Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[f]"
43Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise."

Don't ask people to prove the Bible if you can't prove the Koran. Can you prove that your Prophet was spoken to by God?
Sinners are saved by faith; faith is believing whole-heartedly in something that isn't 100% tangible.
You can turn away from Him, but Jesus died for your sins, too. Just by TRULY believing in Him will all you sins vanish and you can start living the life He's laid out for you in his Word.
And all true Christians love you, too.

Even Zero Cool knew the answer to this one!
Jesus also answered your question : ..."Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem, and you are witnesses of these things." Jesus, Luke 24:46 - 48; NKJV.
I give argument because He is truth.
God bless your seeking of the truth.

John Haggee has erred and by his errors is promoting 2 gospels, one for the Jews and an added for relatively all and sundry else. there is just one approach and his stumble on (in English) is Jesus Christ. and that i'm a Messianic. no longer all Messianic are twin gospel promoters. If the double gospel was once valid, why could we choose Messiah the two? it quite isn't any longer adequate to easily proclaim the gospel to the worldwide. you're no longer able to to boot somebody even of the Rabbinate hates you for it. it quite is quite what Haggee is doing, he's modifying the gospel and agreeing to no longer evangelise the jews on the Rabbinate's request (to all evangelists). it quite is heresy besides the fact that if or no longer a Hebrew Roots/Ephraimite, Messianic Jew, or Haggee does it.

no where in the Quran does it say Jesus died, God is all powerful he does Not Die. If you even ask an atheist he will tell you that your religion has more contradictions than any other and is so confusing b/c it makes no sense. God doesn't need to sacrifice anything to achieve what he wants.

Do you know that scoffers such as yourself appear in the New Testament, at the foot of the crucifix, slinging mud at God?
Jesus could have saved himself in the flesh. He chose not to, knowing--among other things--that life in the flesh is temporal, and that life in eternity is what matters.
