Good conditioning. In our faith we have a saying "As above, so below". So I don't see evil or good as being anywhere but human hearts and human minds. Is that your real pic by the way?

God is omnipresent which means He is everywhere. People got used to the idea that God is in heaven, which is true as well. Since Satan is a fallen angel, they got used to pointing downwards, referring to hell which is where Satan is. Actually, he is everywhere as well trying to tempt people to sin.

Terms like heavens and pit are found in most holy doctrine which in turn refer to the skies and holes in the ground. But beyond that, we also see God and Satan as opposites, so in turn we regard them as the opposing ends "up and down"

The Bible says that God sits on many waters. There is a theory, I'll give it to you. If you study the Bible you will find how everything was laid out. The ground we stand on was made above water, above the atmosfeer there was water, and the Bible says that behind space is more water, and thats where God is.

Think about the implication.... burning lava in the center of the earth, volcanos come from the earth, hence... hell. Beautiful calming blue air hence... heaven.

Its really rather obvious. Ancient peoples just associated those places with their beliefs. It's a mark of the superstitous and uneducated world they lived in.

Ancient believers found the sky to be beautiful so they figured god must be there and they found that whats down there is violent and hot(volcanoes explode and kils) so they figured that satan must be down there.

Its answer has more to do with His presence in our lives than with belief in His existence. We want to know -- where is God when we hurt, or where is God when something goes desperately wrong in our life? Our conclusions depend on what we rely on as a benchmark for truth in our lives.

To me, I believe God is in every where and God is within you & me. (not just up there).
