I do already have colour in my hair and am not sure if this has something to do with it but I used L'Oreal Renovative on sat nite and the colour was fine for a couple of days then it started fading and is now back to what it was before. Why is this happening? I used a semi-permanent as I am trying to grow colour out, should I just be patient and live with my hair colour till it is back to its natural colour? aaaaaaaaaa!!!

if you put the layer on top of a different manufacture product it may not have stuck properly or penetrated the hair. otherwise maybe it's your sub-conscious telling you it doesn't suit you.

Try a permanent type next time and use one that is close to your own natural hair colour, that way, it won't fade and when it grows out, your roots won't be so obvious!

It probablly happened due to the fact it was semi-permanent, but not so fast? It might not have set all the way. As far as wanting to grow your hair out to its natural color it really depends on how much difference there is between your natural hair color and your dyed. I got a permanent dye close to my natural color and used that hardly any one noticed that my hair was 2 diff. colors. You might try that...

Use a permanent hair colour if you want it permanent. Add on shampoo, conditioner and treatment for hair to make the colour long lasting. Also make use of oil treatment so as to make your hair soft.

it probably is chemical...although i agree with another answer. i've colored my hair black for years now, but when i was pregnant color wouldn't take at all. it could be hormones. permanent home hair-color does start to wash out, for me at least after i wash it, but it shouldn't All wash out.

maybe the hair color was just not that good...i got some relatively cheap stuff once and it faded pretty quick...could also just be your hair doesn't take well to color
