It is the gas that comes out. Since air is lighter than most of the diet contents, the body eliminates from the nearest possible way. If this air remains suppressed with the food, it goes to the end part of the digestive system and gets released from other end. Swallowing of air is called aerophagia. To avoid this, it is essential to masticate the food properly, allow the saliva to get mixed with the food in adequate quantity. This problem is noticed mostly in the people who eat very fast. Man works for his bread n butter, so use sufficient time to masticate the food. No hurry, No worry and also No belching.

To release gas built up on the stomach. There's more room on the outside than inside.
It's better to fart and waste 'em than to burp and taste 'em.
