Sure it is ok (not common or called for often). I have had cats that needed baths because of flea and flea treatment allergies ...also another cat that used to get drooled on by the dogs when he was a kitten.

It is fine to give them a bath but not common practice. They may not like you for a while and it is not an easy thing to do so be very careful that neither you nor the cat gets injured.

If you are just doing it for no real reasons you don't really need to. They tend to clean themselves and your small factor will by more impacted by their box and food.

It's ok to bathe your cat. I bathe my cat once a month to 6 weeks, but make sure to use cat shampoo, not human shampoo coz it's designed for cats. I'm sure you can purchase some from your local pet store.
The shampoo is anti-flea (and anti other critters, lol). My cat gets dirty a lot coz he's young and loves to crawl into spaces, under the beds, wardrobes etc. so a monthly bath is essential while he's this playful.
A good thing would be to get Frontline spray or another Frontline product. They come 3 per package and one lasts 6 weeks. They keep your cat free of fleas, ticks etc. and they're inexpensive.
Most cats don't like baths but he'll get used to it.
You might also want to get an odor neutralizing cat litter. They are more expensive than regular cat litter but your home really stays odorless so it's worth it.
My cat, Bum, pouts for about 5 minutes after I give him a bath but he's cuddly in no time. Just make sure you towel dry him afterwards and let him groom himself when you're done and keep your home warm till he's dry.
Hope this helps.
Say hi to kitty from me.

Most of the time it is the litter box that stanks up the crib, not the cat themselves. However, everyonce in a while the cat might need a bath. I would not do it very frequently though. A cat usuallly does a good job of cleaning itself. I have mine bathed about once a yr or so depending on the cat.

It is ok to give them a bath. Some cats don't mind it and others... well you better wear long sleeves. Use luke warm water. Fill the tub a little and have a lot of filled pitchers and cups for easy and quick washing. (If you have a friend to help it will be better as one can hold by the scruff of the neck as the other scrubs and rinses) Use Johnson & Johnson Baby Shampoo and have lots of towels ready. If your cat hates it you will know and he/she will hide from you after you are done.. but he/she will feel better and be clean!

I believe giving a cat a bath is just as humane as giving a dog one. In fact I have a partiality blind cat that I have to bathe once in awhile. She dosen't like it but it has to be done.I use warm water,a little babyshampoo. She is fine when she gets out. In fact sometimes she will try to jump in the tub herself. But if you do bathe your cat make sure you have someone to help hold the cat it might help you not to get too scatched up. Just make sure the water isn't too hot & don't fill the tub or sink up with too much water.

Cats can be given baths periodically. But not as often as dogs. Cats skin dry out very fast and too many baths could cause a skin and hair irritation. They do not have the oils in their skin and hair like dogs do, they are nuch more sensitive to soaps etc also.

Some cats enjoy baths. I've had two that did.
It's not cruel to give cats a bath, but be prepared to be scratched and/or bitten if you try!

I love to give the cat a bath. I just hate coughing up all those hairballs when I'm done...

It is a humane and a kind thing to do. But most of them cats does not like it. Unless they are trained for it. They become really freaky and will end up scraping you really bad.
