The studys and research that is coming out now is actually saying that the staight back poster that so many people grew up with causes probems in the lower back, cracked or fractured coxexs (tail bone) and hip prolems. And the Hunch back is not from poster ,that is cause from lack of caluim in the bones starting after the of 35. Until age 35 the body absorbs calium and stores it in the done, after the body doesn't on it own so calium supplememt or increase diet with calium is better for over 35. When the bone lack to much calium the bones start to break down, almost like diminos one on top of the other causing the hump and the reason people get shoter as they age. This bone disease is called osteophosis.
It is being said that there really is not a proper poster any more, the spine is naturally curved and it need to move and flex. The best thing you can do for your daughter is making sure she get enough caluim in her diet and if she is very young you can do it through foods.

Tell her its very unattractive to slouch and all models take strict lessons on posture. Slouching makes you appear disinterested in what people are saying its negative body language

You are trying to help her by telling her correct posture is good for a lot of things.
But you will turn out to be a constant nag. She will hate you for it later.
Just tell her on occasion. There is not much you can do - plus who told you slouching causes back problems. Whoever told you they are wrong.

haha.. poking a pin might be one of the solution. but continuous monitoring does help. always make sure that your child sits properly... be it when watching TV or doing schoolwork. explain to her on the problems that may arise from slouching if she continues that. always have her back straight with knees bent and foot firmly on the ground whenever she sits. but still a building good rapport with the child is the key of everything. She will eventually understand that her mum is going thru this trouble for her sake. hope she will change.. best of luck~!!

How old is she? When I was in middle school or so, my mom made it a point of making things she didn't want me to do sound unladylike or unattractive, and because I was so nervous about being accepted at that age those things stuck with me. Once we saw a neighbor bending over to pull weeds and she told me "Cows bend at the waist, ladies bend at the knees" because she thought it was unladylike to show your butt like that. To this day if I drop something and start to bend straight over to pick it up, her words come back to me. I'm just glad she only did it to instill good habits :)

My step mother used this phraze suck and tuck! show her what corect posture looks like by positioning her and make sure she dosne't have schlorosis. If she has a condition she may not be able to comply. Weed this out first.

Leave thegirl alone. slouching has never been proved to cause back problems. However, being constantly chided for not sitting up straight has been proved to cause emotional problems.

If you can give her some modeling lessons. You can do this at home. We used to walk around with stacks of books on our heads and stand flat up against the wall.
