I mean, will the people in heaven have what you call 'free will'?

So even if there is no freewill you will want that? You will want to be a 'robot'?

What will be the definitive parameters of "free will", in heaven?

Is heaven like a Borg cube of Star Trek?

quote:

"If one considers the Bible an authoritative source (and after all, that's where the idea of Christian heaven comes from) then you will find little to be desiring about the place called heaven unless you wish to become a mindless soul in a utopian world similar to the world of the Borg as presented by the Star Trek series. How many Christians realize that heaven is a 1500 mile cube city, or that violence and horror occurs from there, and that its inhabitants have little freedom of expression?"

The paradox of Freewill is based on the fact that we have choices. We have the choice between 'good' and 'evil', 'love' and 'hate'. In heaven, where there will be no evil or hatred, what choices will there be? Hmmm, perhaps we will have the choices in how to express love and good. We have those choices now in this life as well.

To be a 'robot' here on Earth means that we would be forced to make the prescribed decision. This is by definition, tyranny and how many people like a tyrant. Another way to define it would be 'slavery'. Most people like freedom especially in the U.S. where liberty and freedom is quite valuable.

Jesus wants us to freely choose God's way of Love and Peace after which we become a 'slave' or 'servant' to these concepts, a servant of God so to speak.

What's free about a willful act? We all pay for our actions not matter what we do - whether in 'heaven' or here on our great earth.

If God is God then nothing will be changed. IF we make it to heaven it's because we follow the rules, hence we give up free will to do as we please. When God says, don't eat from that tree, we don't.
