Honesty is stating facts as facts are without intent to deceive, which is an active refusal to consider being devious.

Being truthful is not the same as being honest because you can deceive and mislead another person by telling him only a part of the truth and not telling him the rest.
Perhaps honesty is when you sincerely try to make the other person understand the truth as you understand it.

Honesty is the human quality of communicating and acting truthful and with fairness, as best one is able. It is related to truth as a value. This includes listening, reasoning and any action in the human repertoire — as well as speaking.
Superficially, honesty means simply, stating facts and views as best one truly believes them to be. It includes both honesty to others, and to oneself (see: self-deception) and about ones own motives and inner reality.

Honesty is like the huge tub of buttered popcorn at the movies. Everyone thinks they want it until they really get it

Honesty is everything. If you do not have it, then you have nothing. Once we start lying to each other we no longer know each other.
