There were three kittens in the pen when I went to the RSPCA. 2 are 12 week old brother and sister (boy and girl) and the other is a 6 week (girl). The boy and girl were abandoned and have had no human contact. They are extremely shy and I am gradually getting closer to them where as the little girl is extremely boystrous. Every time the two shy kittens go anywhere near the other one she hisses at them and occasionally swipes at them. Will this eventually change and is there anything I can do do to encourage them to be friends? The brother and sister are very close and I just want the little one to be the same

You can't force them to like each other.......However, the fact that they are that young pretty much ensures that they will get on.....I would seperate the youngest one from the other two for a little while. Lavish the attention on the 6 week old as this kitten is far too young to be away from its mother and it needs you to take its place...... Once the 6 week old has learnt to trust you and is a little older (probably 8-9 weeks) I would then re-introduce it to the boy at first and then the boystrous female.....

But yeah, don't worry, they will learn to like each other....just make sure the introduction is smooth.....

I am sure she will mellow out in time and she will be the play instigator before you know it. We brought home a 6 week old boy kitty when our girl was almost 6 months. She hissed at him and seemed quite upset at his presence for quite a while. He was more rambunctious than she and seemed to just mess with her. They made some kind of peace because they would sleep on the couch next to each other for the rest of the time they were together.

Just make sure you get them all spayed and neutered before too long or you will have more kitties to contend with.

One of the best things you can do for them is help them adjust to each other without confrontation. They need to learn that they can play and even tousle, but fighting and rivalry are not okay.

First: keep the kitties in different rooms, general (probably the siblings in one and the girl in the other). Try to limit the time they spend all together, and as soon as it turns rough, move them to their rooms again. Supervise the time they spend together so they get used to you, too. Regularly move something like a blanket into the other room, so the kitties get used to each others' scents. Once in a while, you might even switch which rooms are 'theirs' so they adjust to being around the others' smell all the time.

It sounds like work, but it's worth it! This way the kitties will learn to live together (and even play together!) without taking dominance. Plus, they'll learn you're always around and taking good care of them - something strays can have trouble with.

There is only one answer to this . Let nature take her course . They will , eventually , learn to get along with each other , though this can take some time . Basically , she is staking a claim to her share of the territory ( your home ) and will calm down when she sees that the other two are no threat . All you can do to help is show each of them the same amount of affection and spend the same amount of time playing with each whilst trying to get them all to play together . Good luck . I really hope things work out for them .

They will all settle down over the next few weeks. Make sure that they have seperate places to be able to go and hide away from each other and then they will feel secure.
Cats are incredibly curious and at such a young age it won't take long for them to make friends and start rampaging around your house!!
You'll soon long for these early quiet days I promise!!

Don't think you can really do much with cats. Just let them get on with it and things will settle down. I've had the same two cats for 14 years and the male still beats up the female when he thinks I'm not watching.

you can't really do anything, do ensure for certain they all get on, i think at best as when they are older they will tolerate eachother only.
