I'm Pagan, although not a very good one. I rarely observe the full moons, hardly ever do Sabbat rituals and what have you. I'll be the first to admit that I've gotten really lazy with my religious practices. But lately, I've been having this feeling that I may be practicing the wrong religion. I don't want to die and find out that my religion was the wrong one. I was raised in a Catholic household, so I don't know if this is just guilt left over from that, or if this is a genuine feeling, and God's calling me back to the flock. What do you think it is? Anybody is welcome to answer, especially Pagans.

Okay, I think I need to rephrase my question. Is God calling me back to Him?

Hi there, I am pagan as well. I was raised Christian and had to deal with the residual guilt as well before I became free. I realized that we are all on different paths to the same end, and its not what you believe that matters, but finding what is true to you...no matter what that may be. Sabbats and Esbats are religious. Perhaps a closer look at your raw spiritual path as opposed to religion will aid you and bring the answers you seek.
Bright blessings, and may your chosen path bring you peace and fulfillment always, friend. No matter which path you end up on.

I noticed only one practicing pagan answered, let me then cast my hat into the ring as a pagan. I have been following the Old religion for 7 yrs. I can tell you from experience that it does not matter one bit to the Goddess if you keep the Sabbats or perform Esbat rituals, what's important in the Craft is Love. Love for yourself, love for others, and love for your chosen gods and/or Nature. Sometimes we all need a break from too much study. If you're feeling bogged down by it, not only is it tedious and monotonous to continue it is possibly harmful psychologically or physically. Whether the Judeo-Christian god is "calling you back" I cannot say. Perhaps you never left. Anyway, we all walk our own path, and you have to look out for you. I wish you all the best. Blessed Be.

An observation: You identify as a pagan and mentioned that you don't observe esbats or sabbats. But you didn't mention your relationships with your deities. I would think that one's relationship with divinity should be the most important part of their faith, yet you didn't mention it when talking about being pagan. However, you DID mention a potential relationship with a deity when talking about Catholicism.

Are you currently worshiping any deity/ies? Usually, honoring a deity takes time and effort and is a focal point in ones life. Is this what you are looking for? If so, only you can choose which deity (and corresponding religion) is best for you. But whatever your choice, I hope that you are willing to spend the time and effort to nurture a relationship with that deity/ies. Any religion will seem shallow without an active relationship with one's deity/ies.

Doesn't sound like you're following the religion at all!

I'm not sure if the religion itself has much to do with anything other than how you are as a person in life.

God judges us as individuals and YES God can find fault with us for aligning ourselves with the wrong crowd.

The question is are you a lemming or an indivdual. Do you throw youself off the cliff into the sea because all the other Catholics or Pagans do it or do you think for yourself, exercise free will and try to do the right thing in the world.

Finally, do you do things for rewards! What, you behave a certain way for some reward! Like an animal in the circus, waiting for their treat after the audience applauds.

How diverse are you speaking approximately? once you're speaking concerning the version between a premillenialist and a postmillenialist or an amillenialist, then the version in concept isn't relevent, by way of fact this isn't any longer your eschatological ideals that get you into heaven, yet your have faith in Jesus as savior. yet once you're speaking concerning the version between a Christian and a Buddhist, then of course the two ideals won't have the ability to get you into heaven. Buddhists do no longer even have self belief there's a heaven. So what do you do with variations in ideals? You seem on the arguments for them and are available to the main suitable determination you may. ideals should not be arbitrary. they'd desire to be in accordance with sound reasoning. you only would desire to accomplish a splash learn and use your noodle. this isn't any longer unfair for God to choose human beings only by way of fact they have been given their ideals incorrect. God would not owe salvation to everyone. He may well be only in condemning us all in view that we've all rebelled against him. this is because of employing his grace that any persons are saved. So this isn't any longer unjust to for God to punish people who don't have self belief the superb issues.

Both my father and my husband were Catholic. Both converted and became Jehovah's Witnesses. I myself became a Witness about 10 years ago. Catholicism is a mix between paganism and Christianity. By example, most of the holidays celebrated by Catholics and most other so-called Christian religions have their origins in paganism. If you want to get close to God you need to pray to him using his name (Jehovah) through Jesus (his son). Ask for wisdom, insight and guidance in finding the true religion and then work in harmony with what you're asking for. In other words, do some serious research and search out the truth.

It is 2:41 AM and i sure wish God would let me get some sleep but i find my self answering your question. God being just and faithful to send his son Jesus the Christ as fortold by the prophets of Israel for over 3500 years does not punish all who spit on his gift of salvation then he would not be just and faithful.
God is faithful and just to punish sin and the sinner. God has made a way for all to be saved thru the cross and blood of Jesus Christ who bore our sin. But to reject the offer is to reject God and his judgement is assured. The resurrection of Jesus was witnessed by 500 different people each of them died being burned alive, eaten by lions and even worst with out recanting there sworn testimoney. This alone should make you aware of these people having a real experence. Paul who was killing christians left and right saw Christ and was converted and he killed many christians. This should get you attention. The prophet issac fortold the suffering of the christ in his scripture this should get you attention.
Pagans are just another group of people trying to be gods in ther own special ways. There is one God and the way to him is thru his son Jesus. And the catholic are anit-christ. You have a brains and can read. Get a bible and start reading the new testiment. Read the 4 Gosples first. Then you will now the reason the catholics are anit-christ. Go to the law Given to mosus and you will have futher proof. God does not have to speak thru man he can speak to you thru his word.

The issues you are having may well be guilt. Take some time out and think about how you feel. I'm atheist because thats how I feel, and I am happy with that, just like many who do follow a religion are happy with the path they choose. Follow the path you feel most comfortable with. Just remember, everyone is entitled to follow whichever belief they choose.

No dear, christianity is for evil people. I hope you have enough sense to realize that. I made a vow to never go back to christianity, i even tatooed a yin yang to my arm to remind me of this promise. the necklaces i wear also remind me that i will die a Pagan as God meant for me to, and not as a dime a dozen christian. christians are sheep, sheep are dumb. christians cant think past a fourth grade level, dont be decieved by the din of bleating sheep, christianity is evil, look at the witchtrials the crusades and holocaust and tell me honestly how can you consider christianity after what these awful people have done? lets not forget Jeff dahmer and charles manson.

Religion is literally a practice of the Persuit of Happiness. There is no right or wrong religion, because every religion teaches you to do good and avoid evil, and every religion is a road that leads you to the state of Eternal Tranquility and Happiness called Heaven. Our Creator gave us Free Will so that we can choose if we want to come to Him or not and to choose which method we wanna use to come to Him. do some research, talk to different Spirituals leaders in your community and see which method you would be happy with to find Eternal Happiness. hope that was clear enough. Best of Luck in your Journey to finding your Persuit of Happiness.
