I'm not sure of the weight conversion to pounds, but if you're concerned that he's too thin, try to figure out which foods are his favorites, and if they're healthy feed them to him more often. Also seriosly consider seeing a doctor, there could be something medically wrong with his stomach or digestive system.

Im hoping you take him to the pediatrition on a regualr basis, if you dont then you need to now.
My almost 5 year old daughter only weighs 28 pounds. Shes tiny, rarely has she ever been on a weight chart, at most shes been in the 3rd percentile. She was also diagnosed as failure to thrive at 14 months old.
She was born healthy but she got pneumonia and now has severe asthma, the reason she is so small is because of the steroids she has had to take her whole life just so she can breathe.
Our pediatrition told us to let her eat whatever she wants whenever she wants, but its also important not l=to let him only eat empty calories, chips and cookies are not healthy even if someone is underweight. Make his food count. make sure its nutritious and all that.
Dairy products are great, it will help him gain weight but also full of calcium and protein, things his body needs right now.
Have him drink whole milk only, he needs it.
Lots of protein, calcium, fruits and veggies.
Pediasure is a great thing also. At one point our Ped. had our daughter on 6 a day.
Dont worry too much though, as long as hes not losing weight then hes ok. Not everyone is the same size and maybe hes just going to be a small kid, theres nothing wrong with that as long as hes healthy.

You need to take him to the pediatrician. He is underweight. For his age the 5th percentile is about 13 kg. He is definitely not on the growth chart. My daughter was underweight and they ran all kinds of test on her to rule out physical problems. She ended up having to have a feeding tube for a couple of years, but she finally started gaining weight. She is now 14 and weighs about 45 kg. Try not to worry, just take him to the doctor for a check up. If he has a physical problem then the doctors will know what to do about it. If it is just a problem of not eating enough then they can also help you with that. You can talk to a dietitian they may be able to help. My daughter saw a pediatric gastroenterologist and he told me that you really can't force a child to eat. Just take him in for a check up. I'm sure that everything will work out. But he does need to see a doctor. Good luck.

You definitely need to seek a doctors advice. My son is borderline under weight and is 20 months and 20pounds, your son is 24pounds and 3yrs old. He could have allergies to certain types of food, I would get that checked. My doctor said to only allow my son to drink whole milk for the extra calories and If he eats bread add butter anything to add higher calories. I wish you all the luck, I know what you are going through.

I'm also not sure what that is in pounds...but our 5.5 yr old is VERY skinny...below the charts on weight..BUT he's VERY tall...don't know where he got the skinny from..neither my husband or I are skinny (yes...he's my husband's son!) BUT our ped told us to allow him to eat basically WHATEVER he wanted...when he wanted..he wants a bag of chips...let him have them...cookies and milk...let him have them..That advice was given to us when he was about 2 yrs old...He has since started to fill in a bit and now eats regular meals...we still allow him to snack..because he's STILL a skinny minnie...But he also took his time eating...Just something some children do...IF he starts to loose weight then I'd be more concern...also try shakes...extra calories in those.

first your son will notice you worrying bout him making him less likely to eat.
ask your doctor about a possable food intolerance. celiac disease ( gluten intolerance) or lactose intolerance ( milk ) can cause slow weight gain. or maybe even diabetes. all are easily treated! so dont panic
he could be perfectly fine and just adapting slowly to a new food/ way of eating or just very fussy.
talk to your doctor its the only way to know for sure. they might run an allergy test and check his weight /height and see if it is a concern

I don't know what that converts to in pounds. My 3rd child has always been on the small side only weighing 45 pounds right now. He is really active though. If you are worried talk to your child's doctor. The doctor may have suggestions that will help you with his eating.
