Greetings fellow Christians!!

Wondering what all the fuss was about I checked out Sharia law at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharia_law

And it seems basically the same as our own law. The most controversial things seemed to be:

Hand cut off if steal: Actually this is in the Bible! So I think it's great!

No alimony: Well divorce is too easy in the west to add a payout, and women are now independent, so it's causing too many problems. In Sharia law divorced women stay in the marital home for a while to get back on her feet.

Polygamy: Some may frown, but if two women really want to marry one man and the man wants two women, why stop them?

Hijabs: This is the headdresses for women. Good Christian women are chaste and help the good men avoid sinful thoughts, so covering the hair seems a trifle and it's a great fashion accessory!! Men also can't wear gold, but that's okay by me!

So.. what do you think, with all our troubles I think we can work something out with the Muslims!!

Interesting.. resistance to Sharia law appears to be based on misconceptions about it.

"Not effing likely . read all about women's rights in those laws and see why."

I listed all the laws I could find that women might find controversial. No alimony, polygamy and hijabs are all of them. There appears to be no violations of women's rights written into the laws.

"What about freaking stoning of women who are raped?!"

This is not in Sharia law.. read the texts for yourself, more than likely this comes from Chinese whispers about the laws spread by people with a political agenda against Islam.

It is an unfortunate blight on my own people that the sort of "bigotry" that dismisses a set of laws out of hand, without even reading the laws exists. I feel ashamed for us.

I think you are seriously trying to understand the logic behind the Shariah Law.

First of all, we believe that it is from GOD, so HE being the CREATOR, will command us only things that are good for us.

People raise a hue and cry about POlygamy. In the west you can have multiple sexual partners until you settle down, which is termed OKAY to them, but when in Islam Polygamy is an option not a MUST, they deny.

In any given population, women are greater than men. More men are killed in wars. Biologically the life span of females is higher than males. So what will become of the remianing females who dont find a husband?? Either become a second wife to a married male and get social RIGHTS

OR

Become a public property which is happening in the western society.

Which is better now?

Religions have a existence span, so Islam is only no longer around continually, yet consistent with possibility for a protracted time. Islam will possibly no longer win a tutor down conflict between religions by way of fact it particularly is on the hours of darkness a while in terms of technology and technologies. the full Muslim international has only gained approximately 10 Nobel Prizes. Israel on my own has approximately 2 hundred recipients. while scientific concept is set loose, extra human beings will start to understand that religions are in accordance with myths fairly than evidence. Then we would have the skill to steer away from all out conflict.

o___O; You're crazy.

What about freaking stoning of women who are raped?!

AND woman's hand was only cut of if she grabbed another guy's penis/balls to her husband out of a fight. This is not the case in stealing. Tell me in the Bible where is says one should cut of the hand of he who steals. Most of the time it was monetary compensation that thief had to give.

Amish and Mennonites (and other Christian sects) wear head dress IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES because that's what their sect BELIEVES.

I would love it if America (heck, other countries, too) becamee a more moral place, a place where people followed Scripture.
BUT in order for people to be truly Christian, they have to come to God BY FAITH, not FORCE. So, forcing other to be Christians is not going to make them Christians.

There should be more restrictions on divorce, but it's wrong to force a GROWN woman back on her parents.

All the knowledge I need to live my life is in the Holy Bible, NOT some Islamic text. The Koran is something I don't want to build my life around.

By the way, many punishments of crimes changed with the coming of Jesus. Most of the old Jewish punishments were tied to Israel as an inclusive country under God. After Israel became less theocratical and inclusive and after the coming of Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the his message of mercy, the punishments balanced the crime more.

Are you really a Christian, or do you just play one on T.V?

In case you didn't know, sharia law is tearing up Europe!

Not a bad idea !!!

For divorce , so man has to divorse her thrice and than that divorce is appicable...and ther is process for that , second divorce should follow the first one after three months and so on. this basically giving them time to think again and again and try to resume the marriage, Divorse is much disliked in islam
polygamy is a way to stop illegal practise actualy...well i think its not fair that you marry one women ,give her legal status but as your law don't allow to have a second so you just go for illegal practise and that second lady won't be able to get legal status.but in islam it is also said that if you can fulfill the rights for both then you may get married otherwise don't go for that wht you are not able to carry properly..if you marry a second woman you should give her all rights wht you are giving to first one.so basically there should be a balance.
Hijab is awesome practise i must add. But i don't think your society will appriciat it, its general thinking in west that whtever is related to islam can never be good.
Btw i appreciat it.

We have the Old Testment (LAW)
and Sharia come from there

Hijab is not a muslim thing, it has been there from a long of time before Islam and Jews can agree with that.

The letter of the Law kills. it is terrible for women. This is a Patrarachal law set and if it was perfect world it would work but men are corrupt therefore the inforcing of this law would be corrupt in the male's favor. NO THANKS.

I think we should not follow it. Because it's not God's word, the only thing that gets us to heaven is to have jesus as our savior.
