There are two possibilities for this bleeding.
1. Slipping of ligatuure applied to cut vessel.
1. Infection of the wound.

Bleeding will be more in case of slipped ligature, for which immediate attention doctor is needed. The vessel should be ligated again.

In case of infeciton, using antibiotics and daily dressing of the bleeding site is enough.

Any how, if it is slight oozing, you need not worry. Do the dressing by by cleaning the wound with hydrogenperoxide, then with spirit wet cotton. Then apply some topical antibiotic ointment like furacin and bandage with sterile surgical pads. Dressing like this on alternate days with suffice. Wound will become dry and no more oozing.

if it is just occasional oozing (forgive the technical term) this is to be expected, however if he is losing greater amounts of blood it could imply that the underlying injury to the blood vessel has not healed as soon as would be expected and may need re-stitching or maybe even a minor exploratory op to check underlying tissue but the chances are that after a week of healing whatever the situation your sons body should have repaired itself enough that he is not in life threatening danger. dont be too alarmed but if you have any doubts phone the casualty unit that dealt with him originally. hope all is well

Thats realy awful - i hope that he and you are ok. He sounds like he was quite lucky if he lost a lot of blood. Some wounds do blead when the stitches are taken out. He sounds like he is in good hands - he needs to take it easy. Take care and god bless

Go straight back to the doctors! I ripped my hand open and i found mine kept bleeding every now and then, when they checked it i still had some dirt in there but it hadn't caused an infection it was just stopping it from healing fully, they just cleaned it and all is fine now, but do go back just incase

wow, what happend? Did he get into a fight or was it an accident? Just asking. Well, you don't want to say you don't have to, but anyway, maybe you can take him to the doctor? It might be infected or something.
