I have been in love with someone I can't have for years, I really thought i'd get over him, but it never happens. Am I to live with this agony forever? Maybe it's true that if you really fall for someone, they never leave your heart.

Why STOP loving them? My 1st husband died at 18, I will always love him, but my life had to move forward. As hard as it feels today, when you truly decide to move forward, each day will bring you closer to peace with your feelings. Moving forward means; mourning the loss (even if it were never a "real" thing), remember that it's YOU that you should love the most, and in regards to that, focus on your happiness elsewhere...No one said it's easy, but look in front of you , celebrate the possibilities that are yet to come, and shut the door behind you...Much luck...

I believe that if you truly love someone, you will always carry that love for them. If you really cannot have him, then the only option is to move on by seeking out someone else -maybe even someone similar to him. Yes, I believe you will always carry the pain you feel for not being able to have the one you want, but time dulls the pain to a tolerable level. In the mean time, you can throw yourself into your work, hobbies, family, or other endeavors that take your mind off of your unattainable love until you do meet someone that can fill you life with a love you want.

"they say love doesn't hurt" but yes i know it does, you will change your love with time but he will never be out of your thoughts just don't try to find someone exactly like him try to date and find some who makes you laugh that you can call your best friend and than allow your heart to love again it will happened all in good time. Maybe even when your not looking. I know you could be loney and miss always having someone around as well. That's why you need to get out and give your heart a break it deserves it

The old love feeling is transforming into smth new, more like a lovely memory..and if u got another chance it may come out again...But a feeling never stays the same, at the same intensity, in absence of that person.
Definite yourself...and make a list with your actual needs! He will be (luckily) at position 5 :)

Its true what you say... But why don't you just go for it? What have you got to loose? If you were never involved in a reltionship with this man, how would you know if you really love him? I don't know what your situation is but my advice to you: GO FOR IT!!!!!

You will never look back...

Memories never leave. Talk to a shrink or someone that can help professionally.

I'm in the same boat as you. It just dont go away. I've tried finding things not to like about her but whatever her bad points, if any, it just dont matter. looks like you're stuck with it, as me. Wish you luck though.

Move on, find someone else, don't let this guy stop you from finding love again.

why dont you let that person know how you feel?loving someone is involuntary so stopping from loving him or her will just come up if it means to stop...hearts has reasons that humans sometimes donot know..

You propably think that she/he is too good for you and that is the reason that she/he does not feel the same way you do. If that is the case, you must realise that YOU are too good for her/him. It doesn't matter if you trully are better, as long as you believe that you are. It worked for me.
