Think about it... Intelligent design doesn't account for all the problems we have, like useless body hair, cancer, and appendixes. What if there is a God, but He's more like Greek gods were and not perfect?

By the way. I used to be Kenny. Now I'm The Dude.

What if there is a god and he hates us?

What if there is a god and he doesn't like suckups but will only reward skeptics who had the chutzpah to question him?

The possibilities are endless...

Dude: Is it not written in the Bible that "man has become like Us knowing good and evil" - God has an awareness of evil but is HOLY - that is, sin-free !!! HOLY depicts much more than "sin-free", though. God is perfect and humans are not - He designed it that way, so we would require a relationship with Him. Intelligent design DOES account for all the problems we have. Since we have problems and are only "temporary" [transitory] -we die ... this shows us that we are not God [Eternal and Permanent] and need Him to enable us humans to one day become "permanent" . We ALL have a GREAT FUTURE in store for us !!!

Dude ... do you really not know the use for body hair, cancer and appendixes? That's not an indication of an imperfect God, it's an indication that you have never explored all the possibilities of "the plan". It is okay to question God. I believe he *wants* us to question him. In the process of questioning, one is seeking, and he who seeks shall find. When the student is ready the teacher will appear. Just keep searching and questioning, and you'll soar.

If God was not perfect we would not be having this discussion, because there would be no world, no people, no Yahoo answers, no questions to ask. Everything IS perfect, there is just a process that takes place sometimes. If you put water in the freezer, the next day you will have ice. PERFECT ice. Just as in a few thousand years there will be no cancer, no appendices, no useless body hair.

We all came to be the way we are by the glorious design of evolution. God is within all of us. We seek our own path. Sometimes we get to fulfil our dreams. It is all a game of chance. Luck, money and hard work may have something to do with it. We do the best we can, because that is the only thing we can do.

I don't see my deities as "perfect". I also don't feel they are all-powerful, all-knowing, all-positive or all-negative. They are a mixture of positive and negative just as everything else is. I don't even understand the concept a "perfect" deity. Perfect by whose standards? What one person would see as perfect quality might be a defect to someone else.

Then again, I worship Celtic deities. It works for me. YMMV

In response to clueless_nerd: Odd. My ice is never perfect. It's prone to having little flecks of sediment in it, bubbles of air in it, cracks, being lumpy on the top, one ice cube bigger than the other or slanted to the side. Is that an example of tap water exercising its free will to thwart God's plan for it?

God designed a perfect world, it was man who brought the curse of sin and death upon it.
