God created us to have free will. As far as DNA, my husband is an identical twin. Their behaviors and mannerisms are so different. IF it was their DNA that was in control of what they do, they would do most things the same. They have two completely different occupations. My husband has a degree, his brother never completed high school. We have 5 children, his brother has 3. My husband is a Christian and his brother is well...prayerfully on the way there.
I believe that since God created us with the choice to worship him or not, to do right or not, and to live life as we choose to, we as individuals are completely responsible for our own actions and responsible for how we allow people and spirits to influence us negatively or positively.

This goes back to Nature vs Nurture.
Take Twins Separate them at birth. Genetically the same clean slates.
Now if its a Gene thing both would grow up have the same job same test scores yadda yadda.
Now if its Nurture or free will they will grow up with very different lives.
The winner the second one.
Twins separated at birth will lead two entirely different lives and if given a choice based of experience will answer a question differently.
There are documented cases of this at many psychology websites
Look up nature vs Nurture

You really haven't thought about this. Consider children from the same family with the same DNA who turn out totally different in life.
Were your parents related, by any chance?

Excellent question! I've often thought of that. Are we totally in control of our actions or are we just simply like animals and are slaves to instinct?
I feel that God granted us with Free will.

Then, there would be no "right" nor "wrong" ... therefore, Hitler was justified, Pol Pot was justified, Rwanda massacre is justified, murders, rapes, wife abuse, child abuse, etc. , etc, is completely "kosher" ! Above all ... this would certainly - absolutely - disprove God and Evolution ... wouldn't it ? No law and order of things = chaos !!!

God said He has given us free will..and I chose to believe what God has said over anything anyone else says. God is not a man that He should lie.

Some behaviors are innate, but...
WE ARE THE BORG. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.
