It's sensitive skin down there. It's easily irritated, so it gets itchy often. Just leave it alone or put some aloe or moisturizing lotion on it. When you shave, go from top to bottom, not bottom to top like you do with your legs. Top to bottom is less irritating. Otherwise, don't shave at all. No one forces you to. It's not a requirement; it's a personal decision.

My wife used to have the same exact problem. What she does is makes sure to get into a hot bath and soak. Wash everything else on your body & do what you have to do before shaving there. This gives the skin in that area time to soften up from the bath water. Then, make sure you have a new razor or fairly new that is at least a triple blade. This allows shaving with less strokes. You should only have to go over the area one or two times. That's it. She usually sits on the side of the tub & places some soap whatever kind you use on the area to be shaved. Then put shaving gel not cream but gel on the area. Gel softens better, works wonders. Shave what you need to shave & then she uses oil of olay moistrurize in shower body lotion. It helps keep it soft the rest of the day. Sounds like a lot but she says once you get into the routine it's not bad & you can use the products sparely. It doesn't take much. Another thing is that it's best not to shave every single day if possible let a day go in between to keep razor burns from occuring. Hope this helps.

Shaving public hair is a personal decision.
But let me tell you - as man - I do not like my girl all showing up with nothing on in that velvet patch area. It does not look natural. It looks like a baby's and it turns me off right there when I see it.
It is not mature.
To solve the problem of itchiness, my suggestion would be bear it for the first few days when it grows back. After that the stubs will grow long and it won't bother you and you will be OK. Not shaving is the only way.

wax it! yes, it is extremely painful but when u dont have that reoccuring nasty stubble you will thank yourself. be sure to go to a professional because it WILL cause worse problems than itching if not done properly. dont feel embaressed or uncomfortable about a stranger seeing your 'bits' because trust me, they arnt looking. they are just there to get the job done and we see so many vaginas throughout the day that to us it is just like any other body part, just like an arm or a leg. once u have waxed you will never go back to shaving. waxing down there gets less and less painful each time, after a while your hairs will become thiner and not as many. you may choose not to take my advice but whatever you do DO NOT use hair removal creams in that area. this can cause alot of nasty problems. these creams work by disolving the hairs and hair is made up of dead skin cells so imagine what those creams will do to your skin, they say to avoid the skin but that is near impossible. hair removal creams will basicly rot your skin. good luck with your hair and itch free vagina

Use Nair or Veet! It gets the hair off and keeps your skin smooth, very smooth. You will not itch or get bumps at all. I use these products on my legs and it works. I'm confused as to why you would want to remove hair from your pubic region, but if you shave be carefull because that's a very sensitive area. Good luck!

Shave daily, making sure that the well lathered. Moisturize the area well with a good skin conditioner. If it still bothers you and you would rather shave then use chemicals Use an anti-itch cream.

If you use deodorant it helps with the razor burn. Shave from top to bottom. Your best bet though is to buy some clippers and just put on a short guard and do it. You won't get the irritation.
