Hi. All of a sudden (for the past couple of days) I've noticed this orange light on the left side of my dashboard that stays on after I have put my car into gear (whether drive, reverse, whatever). The orange light is in the shape of a car and the back of the car has 3 lines coming out of the rear left and rear right. I thought it might have meant that my tail light was broken, but whenever I brake, I see the red lights come on on both sides of my car. So it can't be that I have a broken tail light. Anyone know what this is?? Is it traction?? Please let me know how I can turn this off. Maybe I accidentally hit a button one day and that's why it's on. Not sure if its serious. Thanks for your help.

Could mean that you need to check your brakes?? Or check the fuse. Go get a diagnostic check done on your car.

that light means you have a light out when you turn your car off the light will reset start the car but don't turn on the lights or hit the brakes then first start out hitting the brake pedal if the light comes you either have a brake light out or the wrong bulb in the brake light system,if the light don't come on when you hit the brakes turn on the parking lightsand if it comes on then you have a blown parking light bulb or the wrong bulb
worst case you might have a bad lamp failur sensor which is located in th tunk on the left hand side behind the carpet or plastic panel but do the checks i have outlined first
hope this help

I have a 2000 Solara and my light is also on. Check your center (in the rear window) brake light.
