The stryker at least in the short term. The problem is it doesn't really do what they wanted it to do and that was for long range armored attack vehical. So a base in England could launch a quick response to someplace like Sudan. If you put two stryker vehicals in a C-130, the range without mid-air refueling is 900 miles one way. That's a far cry from the 2,000-4,000 miles that originally was invisioned. The weight change was a direct result of the Iraqi war's need for more armor.

Also the humvee is doing now what it wasn't designed to do. It was designed for light weight duty like the jeep was. The humvee was not ment to be used as a patrol vehical in a hostile area. Therefore I don't think the humvee will actually be replaced. You aren't just going to hop in a stryker to pick somebody up at the airport in Washington D.C. or get groceries. The stryker vehical is a cross between a humvee and a APC. It's going to replace the humvee as a patrol vehical in hostile areas.

The Shadow RST-V Reconnaissance Surveillance Targeting Vehicle will also replace the humvee in the surveillance mode and it looks like something that special forces might be using.

The GVP will be the new class of APCs ranging from 4 to 10 wheels.
