Global warming, which has happened before, will result in an abundance of food but will also lead to increased disease and possibly to extinction of some species.

Population will probably increase. It will be different from the cool periods of the previous centuries. We may see large areas of Canada and Greenland again become friendly for human settlement. It is also possible we may have permanent settlements in Antarctica.

Global warming could result in wars, but may well help bring about world peace, if anything can.

Man has proven the most adaptable of creatures on this planet, and I have no doubt we will find ways to adapt to climate changes.

At some future date the earth will likely return to another cooling period.

We could also see major geological events such as a major shift of the tectonic plates or the earth could tumble on its axis, changing the location of the North and South poles.

The thinning of the ozone layers that protect the earth and its living creatures is the long-term effect of the global warming. As a result, the color of the sky during sunset is color red. Besides, more carbon dioxide is present in the atmosphere due to trees shortage. Lesser plants are available to inhale the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and exhale oxygen for the people to inhale.

One big effect is that the weather gets more violent. More wind, more intense rain. Google on "global warming violent weather" to find a lot of articles. If you've Stefan's Law in high school physics, you will have heard that energy goes up as the 4th power of the temperature. This means there is more energy to feed into creating violent weather.

ice age.

as all the ice melts due to being warmer, trapped CO2 is released in quantities and starts to block the sun out over time. as well as during the heating process more decay happens, more water evaporates, etc...in turn causing more clouds and blocking more sun.

over time, about 10-20 yrs they guess once it gets hot hot...it will turn cold then turn into an ice age for least 100+ yrs.

same thing happened during the Viking years...they had a mini ice age and all of England regions froze over like a glacier.
