A variety of medications are used for allergic rhinitis. At present the firstline choice is a nasal corticosteroid spray. Next would be a nasal antihistamine spray. There are oral antihistamines and sometimes oral decongestants are used although nasal decongestants should never be used. NasalCrom is also available and there are a few other choices for short term use if the above does not work.
