I takes about one week without sleep to start hallucinating. When your body is sleep deprived your temporal lobe part of your brain shuts down to rest even though you are awake causing you to become less focused and a downright zombie. It also regulates the ability to speak when you are sleep deprived its difficult to speak fluently you might be kinda sluggish n your words. Eventually your brain really shuts down and you hallucinate not to mention your body it will become fatiuged because of no regeneartion process involved in sleep.

Funny you should ask this question. I myself have just moved back to my old house... I am buying my house from my mother and have been tirelessly fixing it up planting winter shubbery and hanging wallpaper, laying tile and painting ooooooooooooooooooh and unpacking boxes I didnt sleep for 30 hours. I started seeing alot of red spots and feeling very relaxed while standing like I was going to fall asleep standing up. People would talk to me and I couldnt hear a word because everything was quiet and it felt like I was drunk. Studies do show that people who have stayed awake for more than 2 days are the same as someone who has drank all day. It is dangerous to get behind the wheel of a car. You thought process is very slow and your motor skills are useless. You can halucinate... as I found out. It isnt fun because when I finally laid down to go to sleep I had been use to being awake so long it took 2 hours before I could finally pass out for the night. Try to get some rest. Your body needs it.

Your body requires sleep and sleep depravation can affect you physically and mentally.

leep is needed to regenerate certain parts of the body, especially the brain, so that it may continue to function optimally. After periods of extended wakefulness or reduced sleep neurons may begin to malfunction, visibly effecting a person's behavior. Some organs, such as muscles, are able to regenerate even when a person is not sleeping so long as they are resting. This could involve lying awake but relaxed within a quite environment. Even though cognitive functions might not seem necessary in this scenario the brain, especially the cerebral cortex, is not able to rest but rather remains semi-alert in a state of "quiet readiness"

You can begin to hallucinate, your body's functions can begin to fail
people who go without sleep for more than 48 hours are doing harm to themselves and to other.s

there are lots of different effects. But 24 hours isn't going to make you hallucinate - at least it won't in most people. You will be tired and sluggish. your body may feel heavier and it will be harder to move, and your response time may be diminished. just be careful - don't do things that require you act or react fast, and try to get some sleep!

OH Yes TRUST ME BEEN THERE. NO one knows the answer on how the body falls asleep but............ The body needs sleep for so many reasons one specifically is to function normally (what ever normal is) with out sleep a person can see ducks in trees holding monkeys. The mind starts playing head games on you, the eyes start playing tricks that is a sign that rest is needed to rejuvenate the body as well as the mind. The body won't flow with out rest for the brain. GET SLEEP IT WORKS FOR THE BODY

It is dangerous to not have any sleep. You will get sleep deprived. Everytime you get sleep deprived your brain creates a black liquid that could cause you to black out. Try Rozerem. It is an effective drug that only gets the sircadian rythm back on track.

well.. u die from lack of sleep before you will die from lack of food...

its not dangerous.. ur fine... u may see things in the corner of your eye.. but its just visual and no big deal.. 24 hours and you prolly wont see anything. it starts off usually at 36-48 hours .. like a pile of cloths in the corner of your eye will be a dog laying there.. but u look at it and it is not.... similar to that, but its not like u think it was there. u know it was ur mind trying to dream and its kinda funny. interesting.

long term, if you get like 25 hours a week
you will be more likely to get sick, depressed, stressed.

You shouldn't drive or make decisions - and you may be moody.

It shouldn't have lasting effects, but you'll probably be wiped out for a couple of days. Hopefully the adrenaline will get you unloaded!!

Best of luck

Depending on your age, your physical condition, your mental, your diet (alcohol) and your regular dose of sleep, it can very between collapsing to feeling great. So you better know yourself and be prudent. Dont drive, dont drink, dont have an argument.... Just be cool and if you start laughing hysterically, go to bed at once...
