You're a bad Christian because you're a liar. You said you had a degree in psychology, and after I asked you to see it and agreed, you never did and never answered my e-mails again. Typical hypocritical Christian.

It depends on what you consider do be a religion? Do you consider friendship with God a religion? If so then it is. As for fundamentalism then I guess you would have to decide that for yourself? No one can tell you that unless you believe that yourself?
Proverbs 23:7
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
“ Eat and drink!” he says to you,
But his heart is not with you.
As far as church is concerned it's not about the building it's about the fellowship. The church doesn't make the person a believer. It's God who makes the person a believer.
In this day and age if the church is not living up to the standard's of God as it's written in the word then there is no point being there is there?
Fellowship is still important it's where you find it with others whom also believe in the same way as you do. That's what I believe to be the truth.
Even in the earlier times people met for fellowship in each others homes. Can that not also be the church?

How can the Father enable someone who no one is reaching out to save? He uses us as his tools here on earth.
Mark 16:15
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
The Bible also advises us that going to church is a good thing. I can't remember the exact verse right now but it says to "forsake not the gathering together of the brethren." For me personally I find that it teaches me, enlightens me, and recharges my batteries to go out and face the lions in the coming week. Perhaps is you don't like church you just haven't found the right one.
God bless!

David,
I have seen your posts a lot and I have quite enjoyed them and have found your words to be most agreeable. I am LDS/MORMON and I wasn't a church goer myself. Until I met the Elders and learned about the true gospel and how the Lord established church for us to take the sacrament, fellowship with the saints in which we have things in common, to be of service and to teach and to be taught.
There are plenty of reasons to attend church but if you are not finding what keeps you solid there, maybe you should consider praying for where you should be that fills that void in you that you may be finding in the church's you have attended.
You don't sound like a fundi to me. My mother is one and .....well let's just say.. they find no reason to continue to seek for more becuase they are on a rampage of proving every one else wrong.
We beleive that most religions have some truth and to bash others would be really wrong. We are all brothers and sisters and the truth is there for all of us to find. We are all just on different paths and it takes some longer than others to find their way.
I love the Jews too, my savior was a Jew.

Dave: The answer to your question is: It depends entirely "why" you are doing it ! There are people, who do go to church regularly and warm a seat - that's all and there are those, who do go, and live what he or she learns. Going to church of itself, does not make anyone a "Christian". It is what you do with what you learn. i.e. "For when I was hungry - you fed Me ... when I was naked, you clothed Me" "If you did these things to the least of them, you did them to Me !" - [paraphrased] - but you catch my drift - I'm sure. Now go and buy Jesus a Christmas present and feed and cloth the poor - because you will be doing this to Him should you decide to follow through ! Good luck to you "David T" !!!

Not a bad christian, just maybe a 'slacker one' hehehe. We all go through different times where we do, or dont show our faith. Here's my favorite: "Whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels"
I'm not saying you are ashamed, but have you thought that maybe the fear of rejection from peers, anxiety about talking about jesus may be a factor in your 'not being a witness'?
As a Christian, you know about hell, you know about the pain of the people who will go there. Why would you want to sit idly by while people die everyday, before being saved, and as you know are doomed for eternity?
Think about it...the Holy Spirit whispers in you and tells you what you should be doing...Why are you asking this question?

I think you're using Yahoo! Answers to evangelize... does that make you a fundamentalist? Perhaps. Perhaps not.
If you think that these questions you are posting are going to enlighten people and lead them to Jesus, then, yeah, you're a fundamentalist.
If that's your goal, then I personally think you are wasting your time. This place isn't a medium for converting people or saving souls. It's just a fun place to ask and answer questions.
Continue to ask your questions though, David. I'm enjoying them.

What about the great commission? you need to do the leg work. Jesus and the Holy Spirit do the drawing.
As far as not going to church - I need that for accountability, and encouragement. You may be different.
I am one of those fundamentalists, and I smell it on you David.

All true Christians would be considered "fundamentalist." You don't have to go to a church to be a true Christian. Although, it is right and good to fellowship with other believers to strengthen and refresh yourself.
The Great Commission is every Christian's duty...so on that point I disagree with you. The church is where a believer is supposed to get refreshed or energized to go out into the world and witness. We are to spread the faith and truth, not keep it to ourselves.

Not technically. But close enough...
Remember "do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together, as is the practice of some"?
Also, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
Alot of Christians aren't called to actively evangelize, but we are all supposed to live our lives as witnesses to Christ. When God enables someone, be ready to be used.

Perhaps it never occured to you that God might care to use YOU to enable others to come to him.
What is it you love about today's Jews? The way they persecute non-Jews and discrimate against them? The way the continue to deny Jesus Christ? Perhaps the way they destroy Christians and Muslims alike, in Lebanon?
The only way to love Jews is to charitably evangelize them, because nothing is going to get better for Israel until they turn away from apostacy and finally accept Jesus Christ.
Keep studying that Bible!
