My uncle has been living with his girlfriend/commonlaw partner for 5 years now, and I was wondering if I should be calling her "Auntie" or not. So far I haven't been calling her auntie and the reason is because they aren't married yet........

I wouldn't call her "Auntie" unless she asks you to. Go by what you have been calling her. I live with my man and his neices call me by my first name not "Auntie" because I am technically not.

Why not ask her what she would like to be called... there's nothing wrong with that.
It's really a matter of personal preference and not a strict *rule*. My brother and sister-in-law's kids have always called me by my first name, with no "uncle" attached.

If you feel close enough to her to call her aunt then go for it, but I do agree with the person above me, some people don't like it, but if she is a cool person, then she shouldn't mind.

I think you should call her your aunt, only if you feel like that about her. I don't call my father, father, because he never acted like a father but I do call my mother, mother because she acts as a mother....so, if she treats you as a nephew, why not to treat her as your aunt even thou she isn't married with your uncle? How do you think will she feel about that and how do you feel about she referring you as her nephew?....Just think about it.
