Maybe this is a given, but take her out to dinner? Spend time with her? Have a real conversation? In my experience, truly special gifts aren't ones we can see.

Or, maybe a scrapbook, edit a video of family memories? For me, I always had the thought that if I had the means, I would buy my parents a vacation to the mother country.

The point is the gift would have to be personalized and sincere in some way. But as someone said, you know your mother best.

Flowers or flowers or flowering trees, bushes that can be planted. You could start with a yearly thing or you can never go wrong with taking her somewhere special, just the two of you. Be sure you tell her you love her and give her a big hug!

just give her a BIG HUG and a mwah!...and tell her some few words that you know will make her heart leaps during her day...tell her how much you loved her, how important she is in your life, thank her for all the good things she have given you....and lastly show to her that you're a good daughter...and you'll see your mother will appreciate that more.....;p
