No, according to the Bible, sex was not just intended for procreating. Read Song of Solomon.

Dear D.A.,

According to the Bible -- sex was not merely for the purpose of procreation. Otherwise are we to assume that all married couples (ie: who have two kids) have only had sex twice in the context of their marriage.

God created sex- but he created it to be in the context of a marriage between a man and a woman. The Bible in the Song of Solomon talks about how the man should find satisfaction in his wife...

Biblically speaking sex is in the context of a mongamous heterosexual relationship. God created sex and God who hates divorce wants healthy marriages and sex is a part of a healthy marriage between a man and a woman.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

No, biblically sex was not meant just for procreation. That's why we have the book "Song of Solomon." If you read it, that whole manuscript is about a husband and his bride and the love and lust they have for one another, and the enjoyment that they take in one another.

I feel God allowed us to have fun with our spouses also... If sex was just used for procreation, and no entertainment value in it, There wouldn't be much motivation in doing it and the population wouldn't be that great as it is now... I don't condone promiscuity, but I'm saying with your spouse, its all fun as well as to make a family...

Apparently the Catholic Church is not aware of the Song of Solomon. Their views on human sexuality are criminally stupid.
