I'd really like some help for my mom. Our new health/dental insurance doesn't kick in until Feb. but she has an absessed tooth, she's in horrible shape, and she's a very strong woman who doesn't complain much but she needs some help. I need to know how, or where I can find an antibiotic for her to take to kill the infection until she can get in to the dentist. I don't want answers saying "she needs to go now" because she can't. She's not well off right now, and my father just divorced her meaning she's off his insurance. Is there anywhere online where I can order antibiotics? She is one of those people who beleive if you take antibiotics too much, you will become immune to them, (which is true)....so she never goes to the doctor over a sniffle, but I think she really needs something right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Depending on where you live, she can probably get aid from the state. Call your county offices to find out more info. Good luck. Hope your mom feels better.

I feel the same way about antibiotics..But no matter how you do it she does need some ASAP..I answered a question awhile back about an abscessed tooth go and read it in my past answers..This can be a serious life threatening infection if not treated. She doesn't haft to go to a dentist to get a prescription..Family doctor, clinic,ER will also give her one..Don't let a dentist pull it without her being on antibiotics for several days..
And like these other people said depending on where you live you can get help..In my home town the is a number you can call for crisis and intervention..Call your local family services (welfare) and they should be able to connect you with someone that can help!!
Hope everything goes well..best wishes

I hate to say it, but she does need a doctor. I'm not aware of any place to buy antibiotics on-line. Sorry. If she has an infection, she needs to have it treated immediately. Even a minor abscess could get into her blood and make her really sick!! It's true about the antibiotics - becoming immune, but they still serve a purpose when truly needed. Good luck!

sorry about her pain the best way is CAll ur insurance co and ask for an Emergency Referral . best way they will do it
which in many cases i seen it approved. as far as antibiotic goes go to a hospital and ask to get a shot of antibiotic. but as far as i know in cases that there is a abs-es as Ur saying the abscess needs to be drained .which they will make small incision and drain the infection.
good luck go get the Emergency Referral

LINDSAY,
I CAN APPRECIATE THE THINGS YOU SAID IN YOUR POST. FROM A PRACTICAL POINT OF VIEW, IT WOULD NOT BE EASY TO OBTAIN ANTIBIOTICS FROM JUST ANYWHERE. THERE WOULD NEED TO BE A PRESCRIPTION CALLED INTO THE SUPPLIER FROM A LICENSED PRACTITIONER. SECONDLY, YOU DON'T WANT HER TO HAVE AN INEFFECTIVE ANTIBIOTIC. COULD SHE VISIT A DENTIST NOW, EXPLAIN HER INSURANCE STATUS TO HIM AND BE PLACED ON ANTIBIOTICS BEFORE FEB? I'M SURE SOMETHING CAN BE DONE FOR THIS ABSCESSED TOOTH.

You can't just "get" antibiotics and give them to people - some may cause dangerous allergies, and others can be ineffective, i.e., not work on that specific bacteria she needs to fight. I agree with the first response - there are ways to get help for free, you just have to ask around, and probably not on the Internet, but real people you live around.

My suggestion is to call ambulance and have her taken to the ER. They do have doctors there at hospitals that handle dental emergencys. Trust me an abcsess will just get worse until the infection enters her bloodstream and then she could get septic shock and die.

get her some Oil of Oregano to fight the infection - health food stores. It's very potent but natural- kills pain + bacteria, viruses, etc. She can probably gargle with it, and also drink some. 3-6 drops in a glass of water.
