It's possible that with the right therapy, you could avoid many/all medications, which is the best-case scenario. I have Borderline 'symptoms', not full-blown, and I have tried many different psych meds. The only thing that has worked for me is Lamictal (Lamotrigine) which is a mood-stabilizer that doesn't cause the weight gain that others due (Lithium, Depakote, etc.). Seroquel is an antipsychotic, and is for more serious cases where you feel on the edge of psychosis at times, and I don't recommend it unless you can go right to bed after taking it! I used it to help me sleep ( I would go crazy at night), but it knocked me out for at least 12 hrs straight. An antidepressant may also help, but in my opinion, a mood stabilizer is the best place to start, considering how BPD is largely based on mood instability.
Good luck with it. There's hope!

Your doctor would be able to help you choose the medication that suits you best. Usually it's more of a trial-and-error process since the effects varies from one individual to the next. Side effects are usually some things to consider, and your doctor will usually go through the list with you.
For example, Person X taking Antidepressant A may experience terrible side effects like consistent nausea whereas Person Y taking the same medication may have nausea only for the first week or so. Some antidepressant may make you hyper and energetic whereas others may make you feel drained and sleepy.
Usually a combination of medication and psychosocial therapy works best. I'm not in a qualified position to make any recommendations, but a medical doctor and a psychologist (with experience in this area and whom you feel comfortable with) will be able to help you.
Personally I do believe that there'll always be light at the end of the tunnel. So what if one has a personality disorder or depression? Every individual is unique and worth as much as everyone else. ;)

I really suggest that you get counselling. You must have to be diagnosed as borderline. Who diagnosed you? They should tel you what treatment to get. Please don't try on your own. You don't have to.
Good luck.

your doctor should be advising you what medicine is best for you, not random people on the internet....
