I wouldn't ask him out because it's too much of a risk - face to face rejection, he might have a girlfriend, I might look stupid and I'd definitely look desperate. Also the pressure of striking up conversation in a restaurant with onlookers present is just too stressful to me.

Heavens to Betsy, what if he said no. that would be embarrassing.
He could have had an argument with his wife or girlfriend, and decided to take himself out. One night stands not my forte.
But if he saw you sitting there on your own, any gentleman would come and ask if you would like to join him.
But no I'm sorry I would not. Alittle too forward for me.
Look if you like the look of him, give it shot. He can only give one of two answers (yes) or No.

For me, it really depends. If it's a fast food place, absolutely not. But if it's like Olive Garn, Applebees, someplace classy, then, I might send him a drink. See if he comes over or not.

No. I wouldn't...only because there are wayyyy too many weirdos out there these days. I'd have to know him first or at least have a good friend know him.

No, because if he is there by himself, it's probably for a reason. Not least of which would be that he wants to be by himself!
